masking blending

can anybody help me with a little masking/blending problem? i have a little forest i made, and its just 2d trees, but when i look at the trees from one way, its all good and the trees behind don't show up in front of the trees in front, but when i look at them from the other side of them, the trees behind the front trees show up in front, it looks kinda cool, but its not what i want, if anybody could give a few suggestions that would be awesome
