I have begun the whole beginners journey into game programming and am so far enjoying it. Having done a fair amount of enterprise based development for a few years now, I am curious as to the actual industry environments that game development has. Could someone (preferably who is currently employed as a games programmer) enlighten me as to the types of career development prospects, project atmosphere, traps that you can fall in? (like I have heard that you can get pushed into porting games to different consoles which can be very dull, and lets not forget testing) I am a career focused person that would ideally like to progress through the industry, and am having REAL difficulty in choosing if I should get full time into game programming.
