DirectDraw flipping...

Hey I've been starting again with DirectDraw, as I find it to be the fastest software rasterizer for pixel plotting. The problem is that when I lock the backbuffer when in fullscreen mode with flipping, even if I unlock it straight after the lock, the flip method makes artifacts on the screen. The whole screen flashes gray and black. I've tested this on different pc's and the same result in each appears. When I disable vsync This only happens when I call flip (regardless of the flags). If I use Blt or Bltfast there is no artifacts! Any ideas PLEASE?

When you're using the flip method you are not working with ONE buffer, but with at least two.

Thus you have to make sure that you either draw over the whole screen or make sure that changes get also applied to the other buffers as well (which is difficult).

Flip is good if you redraw the whole screen. Otherwise copy is the better method to use.
