FOV difference in 3DMax and D3D

Hi everyone I exported camera data from 3DMax, all data looks right. But i use D3DXMatrixPerspectiveFovLH I got difference camera FOV effect in D3D. For example: The Matrix I got from D3DXMatrixPerspectiveFovLH using FOV : 55 degree, looks like i set 73 degree in 3DMax. Why? Thank for any replys.

Are the aspect ratio's the same?

Are you sure they use the same type of perspective matrix? 'Offline' renderers will often go for high quality implementations, so may well be using some tricks that D3D doesn't - without details on how 3DSMax's version is implemented this is very difficult to determine. Have a look in their SDK documentation.
