OpenGL NeHe Beta Release - F1 Not Working

I have been developing a project using the beta release of the new NeHe code. I understand that they're waiting for the new OpenGL API release to continue with the project, but if someone could help me out a bit, I'd appreciate it. I'm supposed to be able to switch windows using F1, which is VK_F1 in the key processing funtion of the code. However, when I press F1, the keycode passed to the function is 112, while the VK_F1 constant is defined as 282. What's going on? I can't believe I'd be the only one to notice this if it wasn't my problem. I'm on VC++2008, Windows Vista Home Premium, if that helps. Thanks.
