Why have multiple cpp files and a header for each one rather than put all the code in the header file? While I'm at it is there any reason to use .hpp over .h or could I acutaly use anything I want and still have it work?

you should put definitions in h/hpp files and the implementation in cpp files
this is done to reduce compile times and increase code readability.

there is no difference between h/hpp files on my compiler (vs2005), so you should be able to use any of them.

though the original meaning was something like this.
h - c header
hpp - c++ header

also, try to use the search function here on gamedev, these questions has been asked and answered like a billion times already
