ok, i have vmware player, and i want to install solaris on it, using the os thing, but if i do, will it do anything to my regular os if i install on player?

I was under the impression you couldn't create disk images or boot from CD images with VMWare Player. But if you can, as long as you configure vmware to use a disk image instead of a physical disk, it can't hurt your OS.
