Learning Python by Mark Lutz - Good?
I've been looking at several python books, and the book "Learning Python" by Mark Lutz seems like it would be a great introduction to the language. If anybody has this book, does it assume prior programming knowledge? Thank you.
Well, I did a search and found positive reviews (aside from its age, apparently). However, if you're going to learn a language, please do not limit yourself to a book. Get one - if it expects prior knowledge of programming, find a way to learn that knowledge and then read the book.
Life (and programming) is a series of challenges that can be broken down easily if you want them to. So anything you don't understand, google it, gamedev it, try it, etc it.

It's a good book. I can also recommend Mark Pilgrim's Dive Into Python, which is available in book form and for free from the website.
