Flash Games and Profit

What are the ways one can make a profit off of Flash games, or is that even practical? Would it be a better option to just port it to a more substantial platform and market it from there? I have visited a few websites that allow visitors to play short demos of their games but only allow paying members to play the full versions. Is this common and or effective?

Sure it's practical. There are people who do it. The more games you have, and the less money you spent making them, and the better they are, the more profit you can make.

Well, if you're going to self-publish, I wouldn't recommend going to consoles (if that's what you mean) until after making decent profits for a while.

If you'd visit a lot more sites, you'd see that the answer is yes.

See the equation I cited in my first paragraph above. Effectiveness is dependent on those variables.
