Mapping and Clipping

hi, I was wondering how you would normally map textures to triangles that have been clipped to a view frustum. I thought you might have to slide the texture coordinates and then in the case of a quadrangle being the result of clipping - divide this into two other triangles and calculate the texture coordinates but i am not sure.
