bmp file help

i have a .bmp file i used a hex editor to see how the bytes are stored in a bmp file now i want to store the header information data of the bmp file in a txt file FILE * c; c=fopen(IMAGE,"rb"); FILE *t; t=fopen(INFO,"wb"); unsigned char a[3]; int count=0; while(count<54) { fread(&a, sizeof(byte),(size_t)1, c); count++; fprintf(t,"%c ",a[0]); // what is to be put here } have doubt here .dont know what will come here i tried using %c and %uc but it did not work as desired i want to store in the txt file the actual bytes stored (which i viewed using hex editor) how to do it thanks
