VBO ,Texturing and indexing problem

Hello I am having some problems with indexing into a VBO. From what i understand, index buffers will index from both the VBO and the texture , one texture coord per vertex, but now i have 3 texture coordinates per triangle, which mean one texture coord per index, not vertex. is there a way to do this? or do i have no choice but to ignore the index and send one vertex per triangle. thanks in advance
