I want to get some sound and music stuff set up. I'm following the guide here: http://www.gamedev.net/reference/articles/article1689.asp The problem is my DirectX SDK (November 2007) doesn't have a "dmusici.h" file and the dsound.h alone doesn't have all the functions and types I need :( I looked around and found a few other articles but they also say to include music headers I simply don't have. How do I go about getting music and sound with the current SDK (I don't want to use dx10 only stuff btw)

Well, it's not DirectX, but may I suggest using Fmod? It's free for non-commercial projects and very easy to use. Much easier than DirectSound I think.
