Another community contribution using the PopCap SexyApp Framework. Download the free source code or simply test drive the free binary. Using the excellent article Patrick Lester has created, I have written an A* pathfinding demo. The pathfinder class is written in C++ using an abstract interface for map traversal. This means that as long as your map class derives from and implements this interface (with two example boards provided), your class can start immediately benefiting from my source code. No PopCap framework required to use the class. The source code is well documented as well as online documentation. Also, although Sexy is primarily a 2D casual game engine, I wrote some pretty simple 3D transformations. It you wanted to add 3D elements to spruce up your 3D game, this is also a great demo! These equations allow for simply rotation and projection. Simple enough so that you can have 3D elements without invoking the entire 3D pipeline. These aren't the focus of the demo, so the documentation is limited to the source code comments in the HexMap::TransformGeometry and RectMap::TransformGeometry methods. Only an understanding of Algebra is needed! -James
