i'm trying to load multiple meshes with one function, so i need to know how to make a pointer to a id3dxmesh. this is the beginning of my function void Load3dxmodel(char* filename,ID3DXMesh *Mesh ) the *mesh is what i want the mesh to be called here is an example of how i'd use this Load3dxmodel("landscape.x", landscape); Load3dxmodel("tree.x", tree); landscape and tree are defined by id3dxmesh sorry if this is confusing, but any help would be very nice

A pointer to ID3DXmesh has type ID3DXmesh*
If your function is to set the value of a pointer to ID3DXmesh, then your function needs a pointer to that, that is: ID3DXmesh**
Or you function could take only the name as a parameter and return a ID3DXMesh*
