Kind of a weird question, let me elaborate. I'm studying math and physics, since if there is one aspect of game programming I think I would be able to do somewhat effectively, it would be physics programming. So I want to do a bunch of practice problems first, to get a good hang of things. Specifically, I would like some problems relating to stuff in 2D platformers, a la Super Mario Bros./Sonic the Hedgehog, etc. Thanks in advance!

I firmly believe that academic questions barely apply to any specific programming discipline, partly because academic environments tend to like teaching the "one true method" of doing one thing or another.

Can you think of some sample game physics questions, which are not game engine specific, game type specific, and language specific? I can't.
