Ive learnt how to create a window, add a menue to it (file, edit etc) and get the button to do stuff but I can't seem to find any tutorials to teach mwe the next steps (eg how to do stuff with the main body of the window like add text boxes and do stuff with whatever the user enters or buttons, or details like a line between two areas...) I'm doing this with c++ useing the windows api in visual studio 2008. I'm sure there some around but I just keep finding ones that teach the same things (eg creating your 1st window) :(

i agree with the last 2, and add a couple more that i found VERY useful

FunctionX - the basics, and a bit more

Strom Code - the tutorial i've found the most rewarding, goes step by step building a port scanner from scratch, including winSock, skinning/regions, and a whole lot more, as well as recommending additional reading every step of the way

Catch 22 - alot of practical stuff, but doesn't walk you though it well
