I know it's only linked to games indirectly, but I haven't found any info on it yet. -Can I convert my 5 CD's for Visual Studio NET into one DVD? That would mean 5x less chance of one getting scratched. Please answer!

You could burn them all to ISO images and then store the ISO images on the DVD. Googling for "ISO Creator" gives This link, which looks reasonable, although I haven't tried it myself.

How about just copying the cds and storing the originals?

You could always create disk images out of the cds and then copy them to a dvd.

If you have a drive on which you store all your work etc, you can rip them to ISO and store them there. You don't need to burn them if you get Daemon tools, that'll run them from disc.
