OpenGL Geometry/Primitive Shaders with ATI?

I'm trying to use the opengl geometry shader extension (EXT_geometry_shader) with ATI Drivers. I have seen their pdf of supported extensions and it's not on there. Is it possible to work around this to get the opengl geometry shader extension to work on ATI drivers? Or will I simply have to goto Direct3D10 if I want to use geometry shaders with ATI? -Posted in beginners as I feel this is a n00bish question, and I'm a graphics n00b.
