What would be a good library to use for cross-platform sockets? I'm writing an extremely simplistic multiplayer pong game in my own game framework to implement and better understand client-server communication and synchronization for my main game project I'm working on. Any tips/links regarding communication/synchronization between client/server of a FPS (or similar) game would be appreciated. What is a good cross-platform library? SDL_net? Thanks

SDL_net is fine if you are already using SDL (it requires SDL), and if you just want to program with sockets (which you don't, unless this is just an exercise to learn sockets).

Why don't you take a look at enet, or even RakNet, which are considerably more than just platform-independent sockets, and are widely used in games.
