ShowCursor trouble....

So I've looked around already and noticed alot of similar issues but nothing I have tried has worked for me. Basically you use the cursor to navigate around the main menu and in-game menu for a project I'm working on, but in game, when your not in a menu, the cursor is hidden. The problem arises when you either enter or exit the menu's the cursor either doesn't show up, or doesn't disappear for an additional 50-150 frames or so. This is okay during design and all but quite annoying for actually gaming purposes... Does any body know of a possible fix? I've tried ShowCursor and SetCursor functions and neither seem to fix this issue. Can you manually call any screen updates in any manner to refresh the cursor display after changing its value? Thanx!!

It sounds like you're running on Windows...which graphics API are you using? And are you running windowed or fullscreen? If you're using D3D9 and you're running fullscreen, you may want to check out IDirect3DDevice9::ShowCursor.
