Using Source engine

Im a beginner programmer but im just curious about something. Im learning Python as my first language and im curious as to whether or not i can use python to code using valves SOURCE engine. Im pretty sure the engines written in C++ but does that mean you must use c++ to create or mod anything with the engine?

the only other thing you can try to write mini-mods in garry's mod in lua but those aren't full fledged mods.

ehhh that sucks.. well thanks for the response.. guess i shouldve started with c++ :)
You should pick a language and stick with it, you're not going to get anywhere if you keep worrying about what you'll be able to do in future rather than getting stuck in to actually learning a language.

I know I was just joking about that Im obviously not gonna switch languages in order to mod half life
