I only recall problems with hardware accelerated sound (stuttering and crashes), and hardware accelerated sound has been (thankfully?) culled from Vista's audio system (though I believe you can still get hardware accelerated sound via specialised APIs such as OpenAL - DirectSound is software mixed).

True, but Vista doesn't suffer from the KMixer latency :D
