I've been working on trying to add an equivalent of C#'s on mouseover event to my C++ win32 project. My problem is I'm not sure where to detect it. I have two procs one for the main window and one for the dialog that takes up all the client area of the main window, its in this that I detect button clicks and such. In trying to use TrackMouseEvent the only proc that ever gets the message WM_MOUSEMOVE is my dialogproc, however the HWND in that proc is always the handle to the dialog. My question is the dialog proc the only place i'll get this message and need to use something like getcapture to find the handle of the window that generated the message? Have looked around for info on this on google. Thanks in advance.
