Post Render Operations?

So, i'm not sure if i'm asking the right question here, but what i want to do is apply pixel based effects (like blit) to my rendered frame before presenting it to the monitor. Any ideas on where i should start?

There's a PostProcess sample that ships with the DirectX SDK. That's a good place to start.

Render into a render target, then copy that to the back buffer using a pixel shader that does your effect.
