Hi, Has anybody tried creating a page turning animation in DirectX? The pages should bend while being turned. If you have the equation, could you please share it with me? Or give me pointers on how to frame my own time variant equation? Thanks, M

First: I've never done it myself.

Second: Pointers on the equations that may be involved.

As far as the calculus of the situation is concerned, just playing around with turning pages, it appears the path that the edge of the paper follows is an ellipse.

Assume your coordinates are: +x to the right, +y up, +z to the top of page.

An ellipse is:
x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 1

where a is the width of the flat page (along x) and b is the height (along +y)of the edge when it passes over the center of the book (when x=0).

x will vary in time from +a to -a.

y = b * sqrt( 1 - x^2/a^2)

Third: You may want to play with Bezier surfaces.
