A Shader thing

Hi all. Is it possible to set the Shaders Sampler state out side of the file all the books I have have it in the shaders file something like this. sampler TexS = sampler_state { Texture = <gTex>; MinFilter = Anisotropic; MagFilter = LINEAR; MipFilter = LINEAR; MaxAnisotropy = 8; AddressU = WRAP; AddressV = WRAP; }; What way would I do this, using HLSL, ID3DXEffect interface. or just set the state using the D3D device

Set it in a different file and use #include <otherfile.fx>
If you want to change it dynamically then you can set these values via diverse render states, respectively SetSamplerStates()
