This mite help. I have a simple button class implemented in my graphics engine that you are welcome to use as an example. It does the 2 pixel down to the right to make the button feel like it was pressed.

A rectangle the same size as the button is overlaid offset by 2 pixels up and left (which has the visual effect of making the button seem to have moved down and right, or "into" the page with the right perspective). The whole image is then cropped to that new rectangle, hiding the lower and right parts of the button, completing the illusion.
