Hello. During my last semester at my technical school I decided to take English 114 Technical Writing, for I was told it was geared more toward Engineers. As the final project that determined your grade you had to complete a technical report that you had sufficient knowledge in, which I decided to make a huge How To "No BS Guide" to SDL library. The technical paper received a 100 from both the 2nd reader who was a programmer, and the English teacher, and I have decided since it got much recognition and a good grade could I possibly turn it into a website and complete a technical report for other API's and library's that I have sufficient information in? I'm sure I could, but how do I go about getting advertisement for my website, publicize this website? If anything I decided this technical report will be a good thing to put in my portfolio and taunt on resume's for applying to positions in the programming field. However, trying to finish school, and knowing the amount of time it took writing the technical report I would like for it to make me some money if at all possible, and I thought maybe a website? However, I've never have tried making a website besides meaningless Emo blogs in high school, and haven't the slightest idea on where to begin for it to be a success! If what ever advice is given I certainly appreciate it in advance! A. Bukowski

Why set up and promote a web site that just has a few articles. Why not apply to an existing site that already has lots of readers to see if they would be interested in publishing it. Writing articles is looks good on your CV but having them published by a recognized site looks even better.

CV is the European term for resume (technically a little different, but more or less the same thing).

If your paper was on SDL, it probably makes sense to see about having it published here on GameDev.net as an article or on some other site that deals more specifically with SDL.
