OpenGL PyOpenGL: glDrawElements

How does one use glDrawElements in PyOpenGL? The documentation says this: "glDrawElements(mode, count, type, indices) -> None where indices is expected to be a string." But how do you give the indices as a string? What format are the indices in? For example, given indices [0,1,2] do I gave "012", "0 1 2", "0, 1, 2", or what?
