Hi guys at gdnet, I'm proud to announce that a new game engine, HydraEngine, is born! This is my first attempt (after some small 2d games and bloodandiron, www.bloodandirongame.com) to build something as complex as an engine is. I've just finished the basis to let the engine run on windows, linux, mac with support for both OpenGL and DirectX. An importer for 3Ds file handling is done. Basic shader system and scene managment is done. I'm developing it while writing a small novel, that will guide me to the creation of an adventure/action game like Resident Evil 4, Alone in the Dark... Hope to post some images soon, follow the progress at badfoolprototype.blogspot.com Thanks to all! JorenJoestar aka Demiurge P. aka BadFoolPrototype

The Hydra-Engine site is launched!
Follow the progress of the engine...and see some shots of currente development!
Hope you will follow me in this adventure, this is not possible without GDNet and all the posts that I found necessary to begin this engine!

This looks good so far, I hope to see some more releases on the way.
Is it open source?
Not for now...we're working hard on the base of the engine, so we have need to be close to each other when designing and programming. Think that the other coder is my best friend, and we live at 1km!

Hopefully if everything will go on on the right direction we will make it open source!
