How much data are you talking about if you create them at at once?

Locking an index buffer every frame is fine, so long as it's a dynamic index buffer and you use the correct lock flags.

The more I think about it generating before hand seems pointless, because it would make loading times and since everything needs to be dynamic,
I want to mip-map entire planets.

What do you mean by dynamic buffer and 'flags'? I didnt know about this.
The same buffer will get filled every frame, is that it?

Ahh of course, I should have known.
But for some reason when using the dynamic flag the program bugs on launch.
I think it may have something to do with DrawIndexedPrimitives.

For some reason I have been able to render an indexed primitive without even changing the paremeters of vertices to use, or primitives to render, as it is, its set way too high, yet it still works. Im thinking this might have something to do with why dynamic isnt working.
