Environment: Visual Studio 2005, C++ environment, Windows Form Application Objective: Fade in and fade out a picture( both using pictureBox or Paint event are okay, I will use according to the method supplied ) in a Windows Form with a certain background picture (if not possible, I may consider just a black colour background, it's ok.) I feel that there is something about painting events and alpha values. But I searched on the Internet and find out many codes to do with OpenGL or other programming languages. In C++, what should I do? Thanks in advance!

You want to google for "GDI+" or "System.Drawing". That's what you'd use to draw to a form, assuming you don't want to use opengl or direct3d.
