My friend and I are working together on a project and we are getting sick of sending emails back and forth for each code revision which can happen a lot. I have heard about something called Subversion and SVN and stuff like that but I really do not know much about it and I for sure do not know how to set it up on VS2005. Any links to guide me in the right direction? Any tips, etc?

SVN is a way of storing your source online. There's a lot of details I won't go into, just do a google search.

You can get plugins to connect to it with vs.net, but not the express version: it doesn't support plugins. You'll have to use a 3rd party tool like tortoise svn.

Also check out codeplex. There's a few ways to connect to it, including vs team studio, which is a free download. I don't recall if it installs into the express version, you'd have to check that out.

Personally I like using team studio overall. It integrates very nicely into the IDE and is very easy to use.
