using SDL to record window

hi, has anyone tried to record the window in SDL? What im trying to do is to record the images displayed on the surface(window) being displayed so i can play it back at a later date. Thank you

Are you using an event/messaging system as it is trivial to have a playback feature with these types of systems as you just record the events and replay them.

I agree with dmail. I would try to save the game state at the beginning of where you want to begin recording and record all of the events that happened and when. Then you can re-simulate the game events to create playback.

Trying to save the graphical output at each step would be too resource heavy.
