I need my program to play a note whenever one object impacts another. I need the note to be controlled by me at runtime and I would rather NOT have to have 300+ .wav files with each note hanging around. What would be my best method for this? Thanks!

What exactly do you mean by 'a note'? Why do you think you could need 300 .WAV files? And, as Jaap says, is this really a programming question?

Ummm, wow. I posted it here only because I thought the programmers would have thought it should go in here. You know, "Music and Sound"? Oh well. I'll repost over there.

On the list of forums, under the words "Music and Sound", you'll see some more words: "The artistic side of creating game music and sound effects."
