my game idea
i have been thinking it would be so cool to see have a 3d world that your able to see real peoples faces loaded on to the model , this would make the 3d world real as you can see the person near you etc... so i was thinking if i decided to work on it then how would the loading jpg or bmp file on your face be loaded because people will be idiots and load some random picture of something ,
does anyone have a idea to check if they load there real face etc?
There is some "image recognition" tech (google for Image Recognition) that you could apply to the problem, but that's still a "very hard" problem in computer science. i.e. you couldn't guarantee that, say, a picture of someone's ass wouldn't pass your filter unless you have actual humans checking the data. That which is easy for your brain is often extremely hard for a computer.
Also, there is certainly no way that you could ensure that it was the user's actual face. i.e. I could upload Paris Hilton's face, make a slutty avatar and piss people off: or I could put George Bush's face on a girl, or jesus's face on a hooker, etc etc. That there is absolutely nothing you could to about except implement a system by which players can report other players and then you have GMs enter the world and see if someone should be banned/character deleted/etc

yeh exactly , its hard to think of some kind of filtering system , i know you could say load paris hiltons face but i ment , the filter checking would check if its a face or something else , unless i has some kind of bot security walking around the world do checks if is its a face or something else :D
or if people submitted there picture they wanted loading , i would put it on the server and there client would download it from the server , so they are unable to change it etc , of course i will never know if its there real face or not , but the whole concept of the world would be to meet people , walk , around etc , i dont see it has been done yet

Slightly off topic, but somewhat relevant: ctrlaltdel-online comic
well actually you could take the government approach and force users to register with a drivers license (limiting to age however!).
then when you've seen their license photo, and got their details, you could accept their photo face submission!
What you're basically talking about here is creating a highly-secure, closed system which simply is impossible in this world, since all systems are corruptible due to human nature. the best you can do is *limit* the damage, so to speak. but the more limitations you place on such as submission system (such as drivers license - i mean, who's gonna give that to a complete stranger!), the less people will be attracted to the project. That's what all real-world systems deal with: a balance between good security versus good useability. their is no perfect solution!
