New to the interactive entertainment industry

I'm sure this type of thread gets started atleast three times a day. But I begin classes to become a devolper on the 28th and I would really appreciate some advice and input from some experts in the field. Thanks.

Yeah, what language are you using, is it OpenGL or DirectX, are you developing a game, 2D or 3D, any hints at all of what your doing would help. For now, all I can say to you with the hints you have given is http://www.google.com/

Thanks, I guess, I don't know what they are going to start me on. I know they are giving me the Unreal Engine eventually and teaching me C and C++. I also know that I will be working with DirectX.
