I have a .x mesh with animations, i want to load the mesh with motion in xna. i looked at codeplex animation component but it seems it doesn't work with xna 2 and also the dwarf sample can not be compiled. http://www.codeplex.com/animationcomponents/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2810 and the skinningsample from creator's club shows fbx and other samples are skeletal animation. I am learning xna with xna creator's guide but it also shows md2 using milkshape. other resources on the internet are related with codeplex.

I have also been struggling with this. The animation component on codeplex is out-dated.

The only other options (apart from rolling your own skinning code) is to look at loading collada files (Clicky) or using the skinning sample at creator's club with exported FBX models.

We are going for the later approach, using the skinning sample and exporting our animated models to FBX.
