Today we have announced the open beta of our latest casual game, Ancient Quest of Saqqarah. Any kind of feedback is welcome and will be of great help to us in final polishing of the game.

Once you play the game there is an option to complete a survey and apply for inclusion in the closed beta of the full version. Once again I would like to stress that we will appreciate all kinds of honest feedback!

Just a quickie for you, installed it and ran it and it couldnt find OpenAl.dll when it finished, but ran fine when run from the Start Menu.

Is the problem with OpenAl.dll repeating every time you launch the game with the icon on the desktop? Are you sure that it was OpenAl.dll and not OpenAl32.dll? Perhaps you are running a 64 bit system?

No it only happened at the end of the install process when going to the game for the first time, after that all is fine. Iam on a WinXp Sp2 32 bit box.

The presentation look really slick. How long did it take you to get your game to this stage from concept? (I guess you were building on a existing codebase)

Balaam: reaching beta stage of the game took us about 18 months from the concept. I started programming the engine about two months earlier.
