Hi gamedev! I am looking for some recommendations for well written books that focus on developing software with the 3DS Max and Maya API's. Or are the tutorials and manuals that come with the packages sufficient to learn the ropes? Any help from plugin developers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This Maya 8 though, not sure if you have a preference, or what the current version is....

Edit: Sorry, you were talking about API's, not the software itself...my mistake.
