shadow mapping in 2 passes without GL_ARB_shadow_ambient ?

hello, since GL_ARB_shadow_ambient is not available on NVIDIA cards, is there still a way to get shadow mapping running in 2 passes only without this extension? if yes, how? thanks a lot! [Edited by - ehmdjii on May 25, 2008 6:28:51 AM]

Are you using shaders? If so yes you can do it in two passes. No need for the extension anymore if you have shaders.

Render geometry first with ambient shading, then additively blend your shadow-mapped scene on top of that.
