Hello I'm new to .FX files and unsure of how to use them, I'm trying to get the Shadows.FX file from rendermonkey to work, I can't seem to find a good guide on how to apply these .fx files to models, ect So far I've got the .fx file loading, and I know of these 2 commands ShadowEffect.Begin(); and ShadowEffect.End(); How do I know what vars to pass to shadows.fx? and how to I apply it? And help would be great, I'm stumped L8r, and Thanks, MajSlayer

Look at the section titled Effects at the SDK documentation (under Programming Guide). It shows how to use effects and should get you started.

As far as what parameters to pass, that depends on the effect. Probably any effect will need the transformation matrices (and some combinations of them), but it won't need lighting information if it doesn't compute any lighting.

Also check out the BasicEffect sample in the SDK, and have a look at the code used to apply an effect and set parameters.
