modelview and proj matrix

A projection matrix contains values that are only used by the viewport and the camera. For example, in those 16 numbers, things like Field of view, Aspect ratio, and min/max clipping planes are set. You would use this matrix for things like projecting a ray from the camera into the scene, or the other way around.
