Why would my backsides of my leafs not be lit at all? Do I need two sided lighting? Model not setup for it? Thanks

We need a bit more details than that...

Maybe the back-side of the leaf is facing away from the light source and thus not receiving any lighting. In that case you can add an additional light source in the appropriate place.

How do you represent the leaf's geometry? How do you do your lighting? Fixed-function or in a shader?

It would probably be best if you post your code.

Shader, triangles, bumpmapping, and when I use the shader to set the output to white the backside is still black, but from what I can see the front is white.
