Hello, Does anyone know how to set the order objects are rendered in a scene in MAX? See, I need to sort my mesh/mats rendering so I can put the transparent objects as the last thing rendered, else I have problems with glass, ect. something to do with alpha and the z buffer:( (so I'm told) Anyone know how to do this? I can't seem to find the option. Peace, MajSlayer

just a guess, but maybe when your rendering your model in your program, you could check to see if the material is a transparent one, and if it is, set the alpha blending to true or whatever, hope that helps

While I'm not experienced in Max, I don't believe that the 3DS format supports anything like what you're looking for. Instead the render order is usually altered at runtime by the program as iedoc mentioned.

I believe this is how both the Irrlicht and Ogre 3D engines work, so if you're working directly in DirectX or OpenGL you might look to those open source projects for inspiration.

Edit: My apologies, I somehow overlooked that you are using XNA. However, the point should still hold true if you ignore the part about DirectX/OpenGL.
