Textures go sour when converted to power of 2 for XNA .x files

Hello, seems by the time my textures get into my .x files there all fuzzy and blurry.. They are being converted by panda out of 3DS and they just look horrible, even in 3DS they come out bad(when I drop a picture onto a mesh it gets converted as well it seems, by 3ds):( I have no idea why it doing this, any ideas? Hard to tell from a description. Try posting before and after images.

I think the most probable cause is that you are scaling your texture up a lot. What resolution do you start with, and what size do you convert to?
