If I have a source file that contains:
##globals.py
def foo(msg):
    print msg

And I want to be able to do:
import globals
foo('test')
and have it auto-matically also import the function foo(). How do I do this?

You don't. If 'globals.foo()' isn't good enough, you'd use "from globals import *" instead.

You can also import individual objects from a module, like this: "from globals import foo". You could then call the foo() method as if you declared it in the local module. That method has the benefit of not "polluting" your local namespace with unnecessary objects.
