sorry if this is in the wrong place or something. i am new to the site but after reading some other threads and information on this site i am feeling lost and a little depressed. i have recently been accepted into a local uni to do a degree in Computer Games Development but now i feel like i have taken the wrong path. most of the people on here seem to recommend a degree in CS. i have just finished a HND (Higher National Deploma) in Computer Information Systems but i think i have failed mostly due to the place being rubbish and i lost interest. would it be recommended for me to change the degree i am going for? to be honest i dont really have a clue where i am going i have a goal but untill i found this site i had no knowledge of how to reach my goal. i am very sorry if i have now written a load of crap or whatever i just felt i needed to get some stuff off my chest with people who know what they are talking about >_>

I wouldn't worry if you are enjoying the program. If the Computer Games Degree is what you want to do, don't worry what people on here say. It's always a debate between general programming schools and game dev schools anyway.

If you are taking Computer Games Development courses and are worried about knowing general programming, work on general programming in your spare time. And vice versa if taking general programming degrees.

I think if you've got that CS degree and working on a game degree you should be covering yourself quite well.

You can use all the game dev knowledge you can get! Be it from uni or this site!
So learn learn learn and then develop develop develop!:)

PS. Feel free to alternate those around;)
