Hello everyone, I have programmed a Win32 game that uses XACT, DirectX 9.0c, and C++ and I wish to create an installer for the game that works correctly. The problem: Whenever the game is installed onto a computer that does not have the DirectX SDK installed on it the program will crash the second XACT is being initialized within the program. The game works perfectly fine when installed on the computer I developed it on. I am using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 for this project and I compared the output from the debug window while the game was running. I noticed that there was one DLL that was being loaded when XACT was being initialized that was not present on the computer without the DirectX SDK. The file was called xactengine2_10.dll and the output was 'SimpleGUI.exe': Loaded 'E:\WINDOWS\system32\xactengine2_10.dll' for the debug output. I tried various approaches but all have been no success. If anyone has ran into this problem before please let me know. Or if you have a solution for it that would be great also. Thank You.

You might want to bundle the DirectX redist installer with your own installer, that way you can be sure the player will have any needed dependencies.
